The Young Sultan Ahmed settled down in the beautiful city of Istanbul
and demanded a sumptuous religious edifice.
The much talked about Blue Mosque is a splendid achievement of this Turkish faience craft. Stately cupolas and walls are adorned with numerous hand manufactured tiles from Iznik, the capital of ceramics in Turkey. These luxurious high quality pieces could only be produced in very limited tints and were mostly used for palaces and mosques ornamentation. Initially blue, then red and yellow, patterns represent arabesque, flowers, birds and sometimes verses from the Quran.
The cerulean decor of these frames are exclusively inspired
by the greatness Sultan Ahmet Mosque.
They embellish the look with love and beauty.
